Dave has been teaching and coaching tennis for over 30 years. Originally from Lorain, OH, Dave grew up playing a variety of sports before deciding to concentrate on tennis in the 8th grade. Dave played 2 years for Division I University of Toledo, before transferring to and graduating from Kent State University. After coaching for a few years in Cleveland, Dave moved to Chicago and worked for 8 years at the CARE Tennis Academy in Libertyville, IL, one of the top junior academies in the country. While there, Dave was mainly responsible for coaching and travelling with high nationally and internationally ranked players. Dave then moved to Arizona and coached at the Village Racquet and Fitness Club for 8 years, working with all levels of adults and juniors, as well as coaching many women’s interclub teams. Most recently, Dave has been Tennis Coordinator for the City of Missoula’s Parks and Recreation. When not teaching, Dave enjoys trail running, cycling and just about any human-powered activity in the mountains. Some off-court accomplishments include running over 30 ultramarathons, thru-hiking the entire Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia as well as several multi-week bikepacking trips throughout the Rockies and Europe.
